Waste and Compost Initiative
Korčulanski Vrtal is a project initiated by the social justice non-profit KAP to tackle environmental issues on the island of Korčula through education and community-based problem-solving. We designed and conducted a survey for Korčulanski Vrtal to assess community waste management knowledge, attitudes, and practices. We also conducted outreach seminars in partnership with the City of Korčula and the municipal waste management authority, Hober, to provide basic education about composting best practices to the general public, in preparation for the expansion of community composting and a shift in public waste collection practices.
